Welcome to your 2019 designer refresh..TK Maxx style!
Following the glitter-filled fun of Christmas and New Year, January can feel like a dull, treat-free existence for many (including yours truly..). Fortunately a high-end sale is always guaranteed to lift the gloom and provide a guilt-free, designer-wardrobe refresh for the year ahead.
Quick Update: For anyone uninitiated in the way of the 'Maxx, here is a quick run down of pricing and labels:
Step 1: Standard pricing is shown on white labels or tags. TK Maxx offers great prices all year round, with savings up to 60%off RRP.
Step 2: Some items are discounted further, at which point they get a "red" price label, and usually their own area on the rail or shelf.
So far, so wonderful but things get even better thanks to..
Step 3: when prices are reduced even further - up to 80%+ discount, and suitably highlighted by bright, sunshine-yellow price labels 💛🌞😊
So, how did I get on with my latest trip? Was it all reindeer slippers and and "Stop here Santa!" PJ's? I fully admit that there were a few festive leftovers, but a determined look around led me to some fantastic items at pretty incredible prices. But, enough of what I think, here's what I bought so you can judge for yourself..
2 x Coromandel long black and gold tulle evening dresses (adorable and couldn't resist getting one of each for our upcoming cruise holiday)
1 x pair of eye-catching, pewter leather Unisa heels (shown alongside evening dress above and below. They are brand new, pristine and unusual - I couldn't resist them and, at just 50p, they were certainly my cheapest item of the day)
1 x elegant Cacherel silk scarf in beautiful pinky-red hue, to add to my stylish sister's birthday present
1 x Lulu Guinness "I ❤️ handbags" make up bag (see below)
1 x Missoni fabulous, tasselled red and white scarf in their iconic weave fabric (also below)
1 x Karl Lagerfeld grey cotton vest top (also below):
1 x Hollister tropical print soft cotton t-shirt
1 x Pretty Green organic cotton t-shirt for my very patient husband (👕💚✔️)
1 x stylised desk calendar (in the first photo above)
1 x white, red and green "Merry and Bright" tray cloth (sorry, I know I promised nothing Christmassy but a bit of festive fun always brightens my day!)
But what about my promise of keeping an eye on the finances? With an estimated RRP total of around £1200 I must surely be in the red already, even if I managed to purchase everything at half price??
Fortunately a bit of savvy mooching meant that I actually spent just £142.49 on 12 items in total, by achieving savings across the board of 70-90%+ on the RRP. Sounds impossible but absolutely true, thanks to those cheery little yellow labels. Whilst most people would expect a similar designer haul to come from Knightsbridge or, at the very least, Bicester Village, we in the know just head for our local, large TK Maxx store.
Where else can you can pick up genuine Karl Lagerfeld tops for £3, floaty, tulle evening dresses for £7, Missoni scarf with original tags for £2 (yes, really!) or butter-soft leather, Gucci shoes in their original box for less than the price of a pair of Clarks. If you don't believe me, just see the photo below with prices revealed..!
There are still potentially some final bargains to be had, so why not hot foot it down to your nearest store, for more details just click here. (no affiliation to me, I am just a fan!)
Hope you have enjoyed today's blog, have a fabulous week and look forward to sharing some more TKMaxx-tastic bargains very soon. Xxxx
